Hi! Nice to meet you
We are a quirky bunch here at Roseburn. We are passionate about family, agriculture, and wine. Our name was inspired by my two great grandmothers, both named Rose. They were short, funny, hardworking, and most important loving. Aside from the short thing coming naturally to us, we hope that we can implement the rest of their greatest qualities in our vines and wines.
MEET THE INSPIRATION
Rose Wilbur
Rose was born December 18, 1909 and passed August 21, 1990. Rose married the love of her life, Alton Wilbur and had their son Alton Wilbur, who everyone refers to as Skip. We have the honor of calling him Grandpa. Granny was known to hide See’s candy throughout the house. She enjoyed drinking coffee with her grandkids before they left for school. And she loved to cook. All of the fondest memories of Rose consisted in the kitchen. Her famous “Granny’s Chicken” is a staple for our household.
Rose Colburn
Rose was born April 27, 1914 and passed March 31, 1973. Rose married Chester Vance Colburn and together had five children. They lived in Kansas before relocating to Downey, California which is where my Grandad Darrel met my Grandma Jeanette. Rose was always there to lend a helping hand. From jumping fences to help my Grandad deliver piglets for his high school ag class project, to preparing food for church functions, and even sewing one of her daughter’s bridal gown and bridesmaids dresses. Grandma Rose loved to bake. She was most known for apple and cream pies.
